The nearest beach, Contis Plage (south beach, not guarded), is only about 800 metres away and can be reached on foot from the house via an idyllic footpath through the forest. The well-known beaches of Contis Plage (north beach, guarded), the beaches of Cap de l'Homy and Lespecier can be easily reached by bike.

There are a variety of activities near the holiday home, such as cycling, surfing, kitesurfing, paddling, tennis and nature walks. There is also a riding stable 1km away.

Yes, in the surfing village of Contis Plage, approx. 1.5 km away, you can hire bikes for adults and children. The selection ranges from normal city bikes and mountain bikes to tandem bikes and fat bikes for excursions on the beach.

From Contis-Plage you can go on a lovely cycle tour to Cap de l'Homy (8 km), Giron Plage (14 km), Mimizan (18 km), Léon (25 km) or to Lespecier beach (12 km), for example. These destinations are easily accessible by bike and offer a scenic route through pine forests. There are no limits to longer tours to the north and south in this area.

Yes, there are several surf schools in Contis-Plage that offer surf lessons for beginners and advanced surfers to learn how to surf on the beautiful beaches in the area.

Yes, there is a large selection of restaurants, bars and cosy beach bars in Contis Plage and the surrounding villages. We can always recommend other restaurants in the area on request.

From La Maison Pinède, day trips to Bordeaux (approx. 150 km), Saint-Jean-de-Luz (approx. 95 km) and Biarritz (approx. 105 km), for example, are ideal. Each of these places offers unique sights, a lively culture and activities for visitors.

Yes, a day trip to the Dune du Pilat is possible from Contis-Plage. The Dune du Pilat is one of the largest sand dunes in Europe and is located around 1.5 hours' drive south of Contis-Plage. It offers a breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding landscape. From Pilat, it is only a few kilometres to the town of Arcachon with its picturesque bay and numerous oyster farms.

Yes, it is possible to make a trip to the Pyrenees from our holiday flat. The distance varies depending on the destination, on average about 150-200 km, about 2-3 hours driving time. They offer great opportunities for hiking in a breathtaking mountain landscape and visiting charming villages.

Yes, there are regular weekly markets in Contis and the surrounding area, offering fresh produce, regional specialities and handicrafts. We particularly recommend the market in St Julien en Borne (Saturdays), the market in Leon (daily) and in Contis.

In Contis there are several places to buy groceries, including two small supermarkets, a fishmonger and a shop selling regional specialities. In Lit-de Mixe, St Julien en Borne and Mimizan there are large supermarkets, butchers, fish shops and fruit and vegetable shops.
